The Story
A serious Tang Soo Do school inside a South Phoenix community center.
Accessible without being cheap. High quality without elitism. Hard-working without aggression. Family-oriented without becoming childish. Traditional without becoming dated.
How It Began
From San Diego to South Phoenix.
Before Dragon's Den, Master Osai Robinson founded West Coast Dragons Tang Soo Do in San Diego. He began working with the City of Phoenix Parks & Recreation Department in 2023, and Dragon's Den held its first official classes at South Mountain Community Center in January 2024.
Master Robinson taught at the South Mountain location for a full year without compensation before a formal contract was established. He does not depend on Dragon's Den as his primary income.
That is not a marketing claim. It is part of why the school feels the way it does — sincere, committed, and built to serve.
Why This Matters
Martial arts changed the trajectory of his life.
Master Robinson began martial arts very young. His father died while he was young, and his family could not afford martial arts. The art changed the direction of his life.
He now feels an obligation to give back what was given to him — and he sees teaching martial arts as the skill set through which he can make his own impact on the world and help grow his community.
That is why accessibility, community, and personal development are not slogans here. They are the reason the school exists.
What Dragon's Den Is
- Authentic
- Sincere
- Energetic
- Family-oriented
- Hard-working
- Focused on development of the person
What Dragon's Den Is Not
- Image-focused or trophy-chasing
- A belt mill
- An aggressive fight gym
- A children's entertainment program
- A luxury dojo pretending to be something it isn't
What Matters Most
Quality and Relationship.
The two things Master Robinson identifies as most important to Dragon's Den's best families — especially the relationships built with parents over time.
The goal is for a parent to think, "They will know my child" — not merely, "They have karate classes."
